Description: Mercenaries make their way into the rotten swamps of Morytania from Paterdomus to the front-lines at Burgh de Rott. The Vyrewatch continue to draw blood tithes from the pitiful citizens of Meiyerditch, the great ghetto-city of the Sanguinesti region, its weakened citizens growing fewer in number every day. The vampyres are getting more tithes from somewhere, but how long before House Drakan settles its eye upon Misthalin and the lands to the west?
What new efforts can the Myreque make in this struggle? A rumour drifts through the hard-bitten mercenaries assembled near Paterdomus: something suspicious is happening in the main temple, something odd even for the border of Morytania and Misthalin... What's more, Drezel has made a curious discovery beneath the well in the Paterdomus basement - something that harkens back to Morytania's bloody and terrible past. And what of the mysterious Safalaan? Surely he has more adventurous tasks for an enthusiastic, young and recently-promoted private of the Myreque.
What new secrets are to be discovered in Morytania? Can the Myreque strike back against the dread Vyrewatch?

Items Needed: Pyre logs (Maple or better), 1 Cosmic rune, and 3 Air runess. Teleports to Canifis, Shortcut Key, and equipment to kill two level 80 enemies that can use protection prayers are also recommended.

Start Point: Burgh de Rott Ramble start point east of Paterdomus.
To Start: Speak to the enthusiastic Mercenary Adventurer.
Head to the start point for the Burgh de Rott Ramble mini-game, east of the Paterdomus, and talk to the Mercenary Adventurer. He will ask you to escort him to Burgh de Rott after you have investigated some mysterious strangers he saw entering the temple. Ask the adventurer about them then enter the temple to the west and speak to Drezel.
Drezel will tell you that he hasn't noticed anything suspicious about the temple, but during the restoration process he discovered a secret room, a columbarium! He will ask you to search the burial chamber and the outside of the temple.
Go through the gate to the west and then climb down the stairs to the north to enter the columbarium.
Once down, search the wall storage just east of the stairs. You will discover the end of what seems to be a Blood talisman! Unfortunately, you will need a key to open the storage case.
Climb back up the stairs, then follow the path west and leave the temple. Once outside, enter the above ground part of the temple through the large door, then head to the third floor. Make sure you are prepared for battle (with at least two different types of attacks: melee, magic, or range).
As you reach the third floor, a cutscene will ensue involving the suspicious characters. Once finished, you will have to fight two level 80 guards. The guards will switch protection prayers every few attacks, so make sure you have more than one weapon and vary your attacks. The guards will attack using all forms of combat, so be careful! You can teleport out or climb down the stairs if you need to, but you will have to defeat the guards in order to continue.
After they are defeated and teleport away, search the nearby table to find a torn page and a glove. Now return to Drezel.
Drezel will tell you to escort the Mercenary Adventurer to Burgh de Rott. This trip will be identical to any other Temple Trekking/Burgh de Rott Ramble mini-game. Bring Druid pouches and a weapon to fight vyrewatch if you plan on taking a harder route. If you are too weak to do this, then just do the easy route and run from all combat adventures.
Upon reaching Burgh de Rott, the adventurer will reveal himself to be fellow Myreque member, Ivan Strom! Head to the Myreque base under the old inn and talk to Veliaf Hurtz.
After a short talk about Ivan, tell Veliaf about your encounter in the temple. Afterwards, ask him if he has a job for you. Veliaf will tell you that Safalaan need provisions, and that Safalaan is working on a new weapon to take out the Vyrewatch.
Head southeast and board the small boat to travel to Meiterditch. Once there, make your way to Safalaan. Refer to the Darkness of Hallowvale quest guide for help (you can get caught by a Vyrewatch and sent to the mines, then mine 15 rocks to reach the location quickly)
Once in the house indicated with the ladder, climb up the ladder, go east, jump to the east house. Climb down stairs. Walk southeast and push the wall and go through. There is a decorated wall to the north. Press the decoration. Now open the lumpy rug in the center of the floor. Climb down the trapdoor that appears.
Talk to Safalaan in the underground hideout. He will tell you to talk to fellow member Flaygian Screwte.
Speak to Flaygian and ask him about his research. He will tell you about the book of haemalchemy and how the vyrewatch have a "sixth sense," in which they can predict your moves and evade them. The best way to beat them is to create a new, completely unpredictable weapon.
Talk to Andiess Juip or Kael Forshaw and they will advise you to use a flail. They will also tell you that a recruit has a book about the flail.
Search the bunk beds and lockers to the south until you find the Combat book. Read it then return to Flaygian. He will ask you which page he needs to read. Type in the correct number that you read from the book.
Flaygian will proceed to tell you about rumors of a furnace in Meiyerditch. He will give you a hammer and 10 nails and ask you to go find it. Exit the base and head to the northern-most part of Meiyerditch. Look for a house that has a post that can be right-clicked. Use your hammer and nails on it and climb up the new make-shift ladder.
Jump across the floorboards and then through the wall. Climb up the ladder, then search the trough to discover the old furnace. Now take the Bronze pickaxe, Tinderbox, and Coal from the coal barrel and head down to the bottom floor.
Excavate the mass of debris using your Pickaxe, then use your Coal on the furnace. Light it with your Tinderbox, then return to Flaygian.
Flaygian will now tell you to make the flail. Take two Silver bars and two Mithril bars from the barrel and a Blessed sickle from the shelf. Head to the room to the east of the entrance ladder and search the crate for a Chain link mould.
Go back to the furnace and make the Silvthril chain, then return to Flaygian. Talk to him, then show him the Blessed sickle. He will take the chain and sickle from you and tell you to talk to Safalaan.
Safalaan will introduce you to Andiess Juip and Kael Forshaw. He will then tell you that they want to search the laboratory to the north of Meiyerditch. After a short dialogue, take a saw from the tool rack and head over to the laboratory, northeast near the wall (look for the slashed tapestry).
As you enter the lab, a short cutscene will begin, with you discovering the bodies of Safalaan and the bodyguards. Look at any of the bodies and they will jump up at you! It turns out they were just playing a joke on you.
Go search the door to the south, then use your saw on the western side of the door. Go through the door and you will find yourself in a long, winding tunnel.
Make your way down the tunnel, being careful of the level 80/91 Skeletal Hands (with melee attacks) and the level 132/146 Mutated Bloodvelds (with magic-based attacks). Continue along northwest until you the passage turns a bit southwest. Follow it then go north into a large room with coffins and gravestones. Approach the center and a cutscene with Safalaan and the bodyguards will ensue.
Head north and search the skull-shaped rocks (search to find 1 Cosmic rune, 1 Law rune, 4 or 8 Air runes and 1 or 5 Fire runes). They'll feel familiar to you. Speak to Safalaan again and you will see a short cutscene in which two Vyrewatch will attack. They will kill Andiess and begin to attack Safalaan. Attack the Vyrewatch, although your attacks will deal no damage. Suddenly, Safalaan will perform a magical spell, forcing the Vyrewatch to flee, and you will return back to base.
Talk to Safalaan and he will ask you to keep what happened down there quiet. You will agree, and Safalaan will give you the materials to create the Flail of Invandis. Use the emerald on the sickle, then enchant it with the Level-2 Enchant spell. Finally, use the chain on the sickle to get the Invandis Flail (30).
Talk to Safalaan and he will tell you to put the weapon to the ultimate test by killing a Vyrewatch. The Vyrewatch are strong, above 100 combat, so protection prayer and/or food is advised. Go outside, kill one, then pick up the vrye corpse. Return to Safalaan and he will order you to return to Veliaf in Burgh de Rott and tell him your findings.
Return to Burgh de Rott and tell Veliaf the good news. He will advise you to go to Drezel to find out a way to dispose of the corpse. Head to the Paterdomus and talk to Drezel.
Drezel will examine the corpse and tell you that there is a soul in the body, tortured and anxious to be freed. He will then suggest that you go to the columbarium to meditate.
Take out your pyre logs and a tinderbox and enter the columbarium. Use your pyre logs on a funeral pyre, followed by the corpse, then light it to obtain an ornate tomb key.
Go to where the blood talisman is and use the key on the storage to get it. Drezel will then come down to congratulate and bless you.
Go upstairs and talk to Drezel. He will advise you to go back to Veliaf. Return to Burgh de Rott and talk to him, and he will ask you about the story. After telling him about it, he will reward you.
